Laurence (Larry) John Gottesburen Jr, 71, of Springfield, MO. formally of Kansas City, KS, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, May 25, 2014. He was born on October 12, 1942 in Kansas City, MO. Larry was in the Navy during Vietnam from 1962 to 1966, and was on the U.S.S Enterprise. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and a Vietnam Service Medal. Larry married Lillie Flores on November 23, 1963 in Kansas City, KS. Larry loved spending time with his family and his granddaughter, woodworking, Sudoku, playing games and being outdoors.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Laurence J. Sr. and Cora Gottesburen and nephew, Christopher Guyer. He is survived by his wife; children, Laurie Coone and Liane (Ken) Copeland; one grandchild Taylor Marie Copeland. One brother, Paul (Barbara) Gottesburen; two sisters, Judy Peavler and Barbara Brake and ten wonderful nieces and nephews.
Graveside services in Missouri Veterans Cemetery with full Military Honors.
