Clarice Eleanor Moravek, 79, of Sioux City passed away Monday, April 21, 2008, at Sunrise Retirement Community.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with the Rev. Daniel C. Guenther officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Clarice was born Sept. 24, 1928, in Granville, Iowa, to Joseph and Elnora (Bunkers) Bachmann. She attended and graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in Granville. She later attended the National Business Training School in Sioux City.

She married Lloyd E. Moravek on April 22, 1949 in Toledo, Ohio. Their relationship was truly special to them. After their marriage, they lived in various locations on the East coast, returning to the area in 1952. During her working years, she was a bookkeeper for various professional businesses in the Siouxland area and retired in 1984 from B.G.T.T. Insurance.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for nearly 50 years and was active in Monday morning adorations until February of this year.

Her love of family was so dear to her. Her children and grandchildren could track their lives through all of the cards, newspaper clippings, programs, report cards, drawings and pictures she saved. We will miss the warm smiles and hugs she had for us all. We loved her.

Survivors include three sons, Dan and Punky Moravek, Jeff Moravek and Doug and Jill Moravek, all of Sioux City; two daughters, Lynn Sorgdrager and Patty and John LaVoie, all of Sioux City; grandchildren, Melanie and Jeromy Vedral, Tony and Ashley Moravek, Chad Sorgdrager, Joe Moravek, Dan and Codi LaVoie, Heather Sorgdrager, Amy LaVoie, Emilee Moravek, James Moravek, Allison and Ashley Moravek, Rachael Moravek, Andrea Sweeting, Genevieve and Lillian Moravek; two great-grandchildren, Hailey Sorgdrager and Ava Moravek; two sisters, Alice and Warren Heinen of Arcadia, Iowa, and Emily and Joe Flaherty of Los Angeles, Calif.; and a brother, Francis and Marilyn Bachmann of Omaha.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brothers, Joe, Ray, Jim and Bob Bachmann; and a sister, Helen Sanders.
