Lynn Sue Palmer, Galesburg Chapel 55, of Knoxville, Ill. died at 6:35 am Wednesday, May 28, 2014 in Rosewood Care Center Galesburg.
She was born March 18, 1959 in Peoria, Ill. the daughter of James and Marilyn Thompson Colwell. She married H. Wayne Palmer on April 25, 1988 in Las Vegas, NV. He survives.
Also surviving is her mother, Marilyn Colwell of Oneida, Ill.; her children, Jessica (Christopher) Smith of Abingdon, Ill., Cyrsten Rigg of Galesburg, Katy (Cory) Whitmore of Galesburg, Ill., Kim (Alex) Hernandez of San Diego, Calif. and Shayne Palmer of Bushnell, Ill.; one brother, Tom (Linda) Colwell of Texas and two sisters, Jackie (Bob) Denniston of Victoria, Ill. and Mary Colwell of Hopedale, Ill.; nieces and nephews, her best friend and dog Scooter, and her pride and joy, her grandson, Cody Kent. She was preceded in death by her father, James on August 15, 2013, her brother, Joey and her son, Tim Palmer in 2005.
She was the owner and operator of the Wataga Depot, retiring in 2006. She attended ROWVA schools and received her Certified Nurse Aide Certificate from Carl Sandburg College. She enjoyed Nascar racing and riding motorcycles with her husband. She was so very proud of her grandson, Cody and loved watching him race.
A Celebration of Lynn's life will be held from 3-6 pm Sunday, June 1, 2014 at her home, 448 Broad Ave. Knoxville, Ill. all friends and family are welcome to attend. Cremation has been accorded.
