Ryan R. Allen, age 28, of Hutchinson died on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 near Hutchinson. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at the First Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 27th at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard.

Ryan Richard Allen, the son of Richard and Betty (Christenson) Allen, was born on November 3, 1985, in Robbinsdale, MN. He grew up in Litchfield and graduated from Litchfield High School in 2004. Following high school Ryan enlisted with the National Guard and worked for the Union Pacific Railroad. In 2007, he was deployed to Iraq for a year. He returned to Minnesota and lived in St. Cloud while he worked for New Flyer. After about a year he moved to Hutchinson and worked for 3M. Ryan was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Litchfield. His fascination of fire lead him to be a part of the Kinetic Fire group and work at the Renaissance. Ryan enjoyed riding his Harley and rode many times with the Patriot Guard. He was an active boy scout dad and helped his son Gavin with his projects. Ryan also enjoyed photography and making pizzas.

He is survived by his son, Gavin Allen Markgraf of Rice, parents, Ricard and Betty Allen; sisters, Marlena (and Beau) McGraw of Lake Elmo and Amy (and Jeremy) Decker of Columbia, MO; grandmothers, Opal Allen, Ruth Christenson Allen, and step grandfather Andy Allen. He is also survived by aunts and uncles, Jo Celander, Connie Anderson, Gary & Linda Prieve, Dave & Liz Christenson and Joyce & Paul Swanson; seven nieces and nephews along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Harold Allen and Elmer Christenson.
