Carl Joseph Schultz was 76 years of age when he died at his home in Deming. He was a life-long resident of Deming. He was born Mar 9, 1909 in Deming. He married his wife, Jean in Sept 1936. He was a plumbing and sheet metal contractor from 1932 to 1979, when he retired. During World War II the shop was closed when he worked at the Deming Air Base, under the Post Engineer. Carl was elected president of the Old Timers in 1975, and in 1981 he was honored by the Deming Centennial Committee as it oldest native male citizen.
