Born May 5, 1905 in Roanoke, Ala., Mrs. Owens was the daughter of the late Freeman and Belle Lowery Powell. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church.
A service will be today at 4 p.m. at Bible Baptist Church near Hogansville, with the Rev. R.C. Prescott and the Rufus Thornton officiating. Interment will follow at Glenloch Baptist Church Cemetery in Heard County, with Greg Farmer, Chad Fuller, Joe Pike, Rodney Cooley, Brad Cooley, Ronnie Farmer Jr. and Bobby Folds serving as pallbearers.
Survivors include her daughters, Joyce Veal of Hogansville, Clestell Wrightstone of Cusseta, Ala.; sons, Pelton Pike of Winchester, Tenn., James Pike of LaGrange; sister, Essie Bowen of Bremen; grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
