Rites Held for Homer B. Gage
Funeral services were held for Homer B. Gage, well known Canandaigua resident and rnusicin at the Kennedy Funeral home at 2 Saturday afternoon. Reverend Arthur Lacy, pastor of the First Baptist church of Fairport, officiated and burial was in the Rushville cemetery.
Mr. Gage was 81. He died on Thursday morning of last week at the home of his daughter, Mrs Ralph Rubenstein of Fairport. He had lived almost always in the Canandaigua-Reed Corners area.
Born November 16, 1870 in Middlesex son of the late Henry and Mary Jane Heath Gage, he lived in Canandaigda most of his life and worked as a machine operator for 50 years at the Lisk-Savory Corp. He played violin and called at countless square dances in this area, playing for his first dance when he was 16.
Survivors besides Mrs. Rubenstein, include his wife, Mrs. Paulina Walter Gage, of Fairport; another daughter, Mrs. Newton Mallard of Himrod; a son, Richard Marvin Gage, serving with the Air Force in Italy and five grand-children.
