Samuel Carey Hopkins, Jr. ,71, of Valdese passed away Wednesday May 28, 2014 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center following a period of declining health.
Mr. Hopkins was born on August 31, 1942 in Ross County, OH to the late Samuel Carey Hopkins, Sr. and Mary Stanley Hopkins.
He was formerly employed by Burke Mills, Broyhill Furniture, and Griffiths Security of Hickory. He was a member of the American Legion, and was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday May 30, 2014 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Valdese.
