Joe Russell Berry
12-2-33 to 1-30-14

Joe Russell Berry was born to Mildred Rhoden Berry and Lelion Berry on December 2, 1933, in Tuscumbia, Alabama. This twelve pound bouncing baby boy was born to 120-lb Mama and to iron worker Papa. Needless to say, Joe was an only child.

Joe's family moved to the Tri Cities when he was in the 9th grade. He attended Kennewick High School where he met the love of his life, Marla Brooks. He and Marla dated through high school. He had one night off per week when they could see each other. Tuesday was their date night. Joe went on to college and returned to marry Marla on April 30, 1954. Joe's passing left them three months shy of their 60th wedding anniversary.

Joe began his career as a radiation monitor for General Electric in 1955. He continued his career through the years and retired in 1995 from a management position at Battelle.

Joe enjoyed the monthly luncheons with the Kennewick High School class of 1952 which have continued to meet all through the years.

Joe loved to ride his Vulcan 1500 motorcycle with his sons and his friends. Joe loved riding to the Dayton car shows.

Joe is survived by his loving wife, Marla; his sons, Rodney/Nita, and Lynn; Aunt Ida Kauffman; six grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Lelion Berry; one grandson and one great granddaughter.

Whenever asked how he was doing, Joe always replied, "I am doing fine. It's just another day in paradise." We are confident that we will see him again.

"So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight.
We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord." 2nd Corinthians 5:6-8
