Graveside service for Wendell Wallace Broome, 95, Snyder will be at 1:00 pm Friday, May 30, 2014 in the Mountain Park Cemetery, Mountain Park with Pastor Emmett Hayslip, Mountain Park officiating.
Mr. Broome passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at his home in Snyder.
Burial with military honors will be in the Mountain Park Cemetery under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder.
He was born April 25, 1919 on the family farm, six miles west of Snyder to William B. and Kate (Ross) Broome. He was a veteran of the US Army in which he served during WW II. He married the love of his life Virginia Brown on August 22, 1946 in Vernon, Texas. He worked civil service, was a farmer and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Snyder.
He is survived by his wife Virginia of the home, two children, Katie Edgar of Mountain Park, OK, Gary Broome of Oklahoma City, five grandchildren, Wendy Daniel, William Daniel and wife Robyn, Jaclyn Patterson and husband Brad, Penny Daniel, Amanda Brennan and husband Brian, four great grandchildren, Haylee Daniel, Luke Daniel, Weston Patterson, Addison Brennan, one sister, Alma Jo Coffelt and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, John Ross, Jesse Buryl and B.F. Broome, four sisters, May Broome, Willie Lee Stapp, Blanche Meyer, Mary Arnt and a grandchild Don Allan Daniel.
