Mr. Hic served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean War. After being discharged from the service, he began working for CSX Railroad in signal maintenance, and he retired in 1989 with 50 years of service. He was an avid gardener and took great pride in an immaculate lawn. As a founding member of Gatlin Creek Baptist Church in Thomasville, GA, he was a devout Christian and devoted Deacon in his church.
Survivors include his wife, Nona Lee; sons, Lance Alan(Pam), Jeff (Marsha); daughter, Karen (John); 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Russell; and a sister, Myrtice.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Gillis Hickox, Fred Hickox; sisters, Clara Russell, Effie Griffin and Inez Stokes.
