Mrs. Caroline Burritt, 82, died at 3:30 Wednesday afternoon at her home, 17 Green Street, Ashley, after an illness of general debility.
Mrs. Burritt, a life resident of Ashley, was the widow of Edward Burritt. She was a member of Ashley Methodist Church and was active in its societies.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Bailey, Benton, RD; Mrs. Ethel Mauler, Lee Park, and Mrs. Arline Hughes, Detroit; four sons, John, Calvin and Harry, Wilkes-Barre, and Edward Burritt, Ashley.
Also surviving are 26 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Three of her grandsons are serving overseas, and another is stationed at an army camp in Texas.
The funeral will be held from the home this afternoon at 2 with Rev. George C. Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
