Christopher C. Smith, 70, of Modesto died yesterday in Fallon, Nev., of an apparent hear attack while visiting his daughter.
A native of Oklahoma, he had lived in the Modesto and Empire areas for 25 years. He was a retired farm laborer.
He is survived by his widow, Tinnie of Modesto; children, Leota Presfield of San Carlos, San Mateo County; Larkin Smith , Ann Paris and Donald Smith of Modesto; Eugene Smith of Oakdale; Helen McIntosh of Sunnyvale, Santa Clara County; Eleanor Cavitt of Nevada; Christine Butterfield of Redwood City, San Mateo County; Raymond D. Smith of the US Navy and Larry Lee Smith of the US Navy; half brother, Watie Smith and half sister Flora Manuel and Ima Henry, all of Oklahoma; 22 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services are pending at the Franklin and Downs Funeral Home.
Christopher is my grandfather's 1st cousin and my granduncle-in-law. He married 1st-Bertha (Prater), my grandmother's sister. He married 2nd-Tennie (Howard). He is the son of Robert Larkin Smith.
