Funeral services for William "Bob" Orr, 82, of Richmond, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, at the Garmany and Carden Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg, with the Rev. Ed Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Carl Guntle, Jerry Hembry, Jim Smith, Reinhard Ellermann, Calvin Wegner, and Robert Thielemann.

Mr. Orr died Sunday, June 29, 1997 at Polly Ryon Skilled Care Center in Richmond. He was born February 10, 1915 in Conroe, the son of Virgie and Harry Orr, Sr. He worked as an electronics specialist in the computer industry. He was a life-long amateur radio operator and belonged to the Amateur Radio League-Lic. #W-51UY. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Rosenberg.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Orr, of Richmond; sons, Billy Bob Orr and his wife, Bertha, of Baytown, Larry Gene Orr and his wife, Sarah, of Sugar Land; daughter, Lora Baker and her husband, Ray, of Sugar Land; sisters, Mary Willis of Willis, Marguerite Anglin of Cleveland, Mabel Kirkmeyer of Port Arthur; sister-in-law, Grace Orr of Cleveland; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

The family requests memorials be made to First Assembly of God, P.O. Box 1550, Rosenberg 77471.

Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Garmany and Carden Funeral Dirs., Inc., 1201 Fourth St., Rosenberg (281) 342-4671.
