Tom Tateoka passed away at the age of ninety-five.
He was the second son of Tokizo and Natsu Tateoka. He was born in Garfield, Utah. In 1937, he graduated from Ogden High School. In March of 1945, Tom was drafted into the Army.
Tom married Fumi Kikuchi on April 16, 1948. They had four children, Douglas, Brentwood, California; Susan (Craig Miya), Hillsboro, Oregon; Robert, Draper, Utah; and Lisa Coulter, deceased.
They moved to Riverton, Utah in 1951, where he farmed until 1985.
Tom and Fumi have four grandchildren, Kelly Crisologo, San Ramon, California; Tawny (Gary Sykes), Cornelius, Oregon; Robert (Brittany), Draper, Utah; and Blake Miya (Yen-Ning), Hillsboro, Oregon. They have five great-grandchildren, Garret Crisologo, Taijah and Tarrin Sykes, and Oliver and Grace Tateoka.
A viewing will be held at Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 South 2200 West, Riverton, Utah, on Friday, May 30, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Graveside services will be held in the West Jordan Cemetery, 7800 South 1300 West, West Jordan, Utah, on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 12:00 p.m.
