C.W. was born in Erath County on August 26, 1928 to Doyle Halbert and Dovie (Chapman) Halbert. He married Margie Lawana Sudduth on June 21, 1951, in Lake Worth, TX. She preceded him in death on November 17, 1999.
He was a member of the Lake Worth Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Mike Halbert, and wife Toni, Morgan Mill, TX; one daughter, Debra Mathews, Morgan Mill, TX; two sisters, Doylene Shipman, Albuquerque, NM; Francis Halbert, Hobbs, NM; five grandchildren, Jheen Ancira, Dublin, TX; Chris Kim, Hutto, TX; Amanda Cadle, Abilene, TX; Amy Weber, Bluff Dale, TX; Melissa Halbert, Ft Worth, TX; and six great-grandchildren.
