St. Matthews, Dec. 21 - The remains of Wallace B. Wannamaker, who death occurred unexpectedly at a hospital in Columbia Friday, were interred at the old cemetery for St. Paul's Methodist church here Saturday. The funeral was in charge of his pastor, the Rev. J. T. Peeler. Mr. Wannamaker was a young man of 28 years. He was one of Calhoun's most efficient and most promising young men. Having finished at Clemson college a number of years ago with honors, he returned home to engage in farming. In this as in other lines of work, he followed an intelligent and progressive course. When war was delcared, he enlisted in the naval service and served there until after the signing of the armistice. Upon his return home, re reengaged in farming. Apparently in good health, his illness was a surprise to his friends. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Wannamaker, and brothers, D. D. Wannamaker, John E. Wannamaker, Jr., William Wannamaker, and sisters, Misses May Wannamaker and Virginia Wannamaker, all of St. Matthews. © The State, Columbia, SC, 22 Dec 1920
