Local Woman Who Died Tuesday Will Be Laid To Rest in Oakwood
Funeral services for Mrs. R. E. Smith, who died Tuesday at a local hospital, will be held at 3 o'clock today from the home of her mother, Mrs. Nettie G. Smith, at 611 S. Boylan avenue. Services will be conducted by Rev. E. Gibson Davis, pastor of the Tabernacle Baptist Church. Interment will be in Oakwood cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Carl Bell, Dr. T. E. Spence, R. L. McMillan, Capers White, J. B. McCurdy and T. J. Martin.
Mrs. Smith, who was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church, is survived by her husband, two children, Richard Earl and Eloise; her father, Hardie B. Bagwell, and the following brothers and sisters: Leo Bagwell, of Asheville; Butrow Bagwell, of Raleigh; Mrs. T. B. Smith, Mrs. L. L. Raines, Mrs. C. L. Barnhart, of Raleigh; Mrs. E. T. Allen, of Charlotte; Mrs. A. K. Steele, of Asheville, and the following half-sisters, Mrs. R. T. Smith, of McCullers; Mrs. George Beaty, of Smithfield; Miss Mattie May Bagwell, of Portsmouth, Va., and Mrs. Cubie Haltley, of Greensboro.
