Floyd A. "Dede" Wheeler, age 72, of Ashby, MA, son of the late James A. and Mary J. (Walsh) Wheeler of Westford, passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2012, at Nashoba Valley Medical Center, after a brief illness, with his loving family at his side.

He was born October 12, 1939 in Concord, MA, grew up in Westford, and graduated from Westford Academy where he was a member of the football team.

He served honorably for four years in the United States Navy.

Floyd was a well known and respected general contractor in Ashby and surrounding towns.

He was devoted to his family and friends.

Floyd is survived by his fiancée, Patricia Warner; his two daughters, Shari (and husband, Tiger) Whittemore of Townsend, Donna Agonis of Westford; Patricia's children, Jason Warner of Ashby, and Tami (and husband, Norman) Swift of Ticonderoga, NY; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Floyd is also survived by his seven brothers and sister, Richard of Littleton, Janet of Westford, Wayne (and Nancy) of Littleton, Allan of Jacksonville, FL, David (and Krystal) of Ashby, Dr. Robert (and Karen) of Amherst, NH, Ronald of Grafton, NH, Stephen of Westford; and nine nieces and nephews.

Floyd was predeceased by his sister, Audrey Wickman. "To meet Floyd was to make a friend."
