Mildred Jean (Lawson) Bell was born on January 9, 1929 in Tullahoma, Tennessee, the daughter of Charles Oscar Lawson (1879–1959) and his 2nd wife Mary Margaret "Maggie" (Keel) Lawson (1892–1971).

She was married on April 8, 1946 in Madison County, Alabama to Ernest Fuston Bell (1923–1996), who was born in Tennessee, the son of Ermine Caldonia (Cates) (Bell) (Young) Platchck (1904–1993) and her 1st husband Ernest Lafayette Bell (1902–1974).

A resident of Nashville, Mildred was 85 years old when she died on May 25, 2014.

Preceded in death by her husband, she was survived by two married daughters, a married son, eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, a 2nd-great-grandchild and two sisters and a brother-in-law.

Burial was in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Nashviklle.
