Pascagoula, MS ~ Joan Muriel Lemaitre Perkins, 71, of Pascagoula passed away on Sat. May 24, 2014 in Pascagoula. She was born September 6, 1942 in Pascagoula to the late Ann K. Lemaitre and Joseph Burton "Red" Lemaitre.
She was a former book keeper/office manager for United Way and she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, J. Douglas Perkins, Pascagoula; devoted sister, Delores "Dee" Phillips, Pascagoula. She was a proud mother of two sons and one daughter, Billy D. Towles (Judy), Irvington, AL; Robbie D. Perkins (Holley), Gautier; Kristi D. Perkins, Birmingham, AL; sister-in-law and brother- in- law, Annette Perkins Breland and Dennis Breland, Vancleave; four grandchildren, Charles D. Towles (Alicia), of San Angelo, TX; James Douglas King (Jessica), Blairsville, GA; Brayden C. Perkins, Gautier; Jade E. Perkins, Gautier; four great grandchildren, Audrey Burns, Steven Towles, Jaxon King, and Ean King.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 28, 2014, 6:00-8:00pm, at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula.
Funeral Service will be Thursday, May 29, 2014, 12 noon, at O'Bryant-O'Keefe with Rev. Eric Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be Mark Upton, Marc Britt, Robbie Slader, Shane Turner, Paul Becton, and Frank Corder. Interment will follow with Police Escorts to Biloxi National Cemetery.
