Gloria was born in the vanished community of Springhill, Coryell County, Texas, to the late Virgel and Della Deavers. She graduated from Gatesville high School in May of 1939 and married Fred "Fritz" Koch, Jr. on October 1, 1939. They lived in Gatesville where she was a homemaker while raising their two children. Later she worked with her husband as Railway Express Agents from the office at their Exxon Service Station. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gatesville.
Gloria was an avid bridge player. Over the years, she played in several clubs, at the Dairy Queen, and then continued when she moved to The Meadows Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Koch; and a brother, Clayton Deavers.
Survivors include her daughter, Joyce Milarski and husband, John, of Plano; son, Jerry Koch and wife, Linda, of Gatesville; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren;
brother, Glenn Deavers, of Proctor; sister, Ethelyn Harper, of Broomfield, Colorado; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
