Jun. 28, in the Delafield area, Waukesha county, Wis., aged 54 years, Mrs. Amelia Morris, wife of Mr. William Morris, died of tuberculosis. She had been dying for some years, and there were clear signs that death was working on her fragile tent; and at the time stated above he finished his task on her. We trust that when death finished its work on her, she began to enjoy the company of Jesus who went from death to resurrection, without a single curtain between her and his more amiable face. The deceased was a native of Morganwg, Wales. She joined in marriage with Roger Richards in the year 1835, in the land of his birth. They migrated to this country in the year 1844, and they settled in the above place; in the year 1851 Mr. Richards died; and in the year 1856 she joined in marriage with Wm. Morris. In Wales, he was a member of the Baptist union; because there was no church of the denomination in this place, Mr. Morris was in contact for some years with the Congregational church in Delafield.

The second day after Mrs. Morris' death, her mortal remains were escorted to the Congregational cemetery above. In the house, served by the Parcb. R. J. Evans. The following second Sunday, her funeral sermon was preached by Rev. R. J. Evans. Peace to darkness. 0h death, old enemy of humanity, You have never shown compassion! You sneer in the midst of fierce tears, You do not respect position or age; Weep the children you despise, Begging not to stop your work; But your habit is to strike without warning, When you go on your journey. Jesus came from the heights of the heavens, Full of power and grace, Robbed death from his pillar, Never again will he be but a servant; 1 reach the path towards home, To an endless land of peace, Safe from the grasp of all sorrows, Singing without fear of the grave.
