AUSTIN -- The funeral for Duane R. Price will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary in Austin with the Rev. Harold L. Usgaard officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Austin.
Mr. Price, 71, of Austin, a retired city employee, died Monday (Nov. 30, 1998) at Austin Medical Center.
Born Dec. 14, 1926, in Cresco, Iowa, he graduated from Austin High School and then served in the Army. On July 4, 1982, he married Lorraine Nelson in Lyle. Mr. Price was employed by the city of Austin from 1950 until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of Olaf B. Damm Post 1216 of the VFW, Austin American Legion Post 91 and the Austin Eagles Club.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Jan Hart of Kissimmee, Fla.; two sons, Gary and Greg, both of Austin; a stepdaughter, Diane Smith of Livingston, Mont.; a stepson, Steve Smith of Santa Cruz, Calif.; three grandchildren; a stepgranddaughter; a sister, LaVonne (Mrs. Darrell) Buttshaw of Brownsdale; and four brothers, Emery of Lyle, Keith of Rose Creek, Gary of Arizona and Paul of Austin. A brother preceded him in death.
