From the Clarion-Ledger, Jackson, Miss., May 27, 1927, p. 14:

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Winslow, 72, will be held today from the residence of her son, Claude B. Winslow, 620 Magnolia street, where she died early Thursday morning following a lingering illness. Mrs. Winslow was a devout member of the Baptist church and had lived a long useful life in Jackson, the place of her birth. A wide circle of endearing friends survived the beloved woman, and are extending their heartfelt sympathy to the family.

She is survived by one son, Claude B. Winslow, of Jackson; four daughters, Mrs. Arther E. Wacaster, Mrs. Robert A. Swiney, and Miss Mattie Winslow, of Jackson, and Mrs. W. H. Mutimer, of Rockford, Ill.; and two sisters, Mrs. George B. Dorsey, of Jackson, and Mrs. B. F. Ballew of Memphis.

Funeral services will be held at the home of her son Friday morning, at ten o'clock, Dr. H. M. King, pastor of Calvary Baptist church, conducting the obsequies. Interment will be at Greenwood cemetery. Pallbearers will be R. M. Taylor, J. N. Ferguson, R. E. Addkison, E. H. Cutrer, C. W. Warnack and W. P. Bridges. The Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home will complete burial arrangements.
