SCHMIDT Duane A. Schmidt, 56, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2010. He was born on October 24, 1953 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Duane was in Auto Sales in the Jacksonville area for 30 years. A former Steel Worker with Bethlehem Steel of Johnstown, PA. He served in the United States Army National Guard in Pennsylvania for six years. A member of Sun Coast Baptist Church of Jacksonville, FL. Duane was very passionate with the outdoors. He loved his golfing and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Aiko Schmidt of Jacksonville, FL; his son, Nathan Schmidt of Kill Devil Hills, NC; step-son, Ben Arnold of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Donald L. Schmidt (Patricia) of St. Michael, PA; his sisters, Sherry R. Baggerly (Timothy) of Warner Robins, GA, and Joy A. Thomas (Mark) of Windber, PA; grandson, Shawn Arnold; many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family visitation to greet friends will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2010 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Hardage-Giddens Blanding Funeral Home, 5753 Blanding Blvd., Jacksonville, FL. 32244.
