Funeral services for James Thomas Doughty, II, 73, will be Thursday, May 29, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home and Crematory conducted by Rev. Roger R. Wood. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, prior to the services.

Born at Ardmore, Oklahoma, November 3, 1940, to the late James Thomas Doughty, I, and Gladys Zeland Doughty, Jim was the light of his parents life. He died Friday, May 24, 2014 in the Baylor Heart Hospital, Plano, Texas.

Jim grew up in Southern Oklahoma and graduated from Wilson High School. He later graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1964, with a bachelor of business Administration in Business. At O. U. he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.

He and the former Leeanne Graves were married July 24, 1965 and moved to Lubbock, Texas later that year. In Lubbock Jim opened his business, Diesel Injection Service; which he operated for 44 years. Following his retirement, he began his career in farming. Jim owned and farmed land in the Texas and Oklahoma panhandle.

While living in Lubbock Jim had been a member of the Lakeridge United Methodist Church and the Association of Diesel Specialists.

Jim is survived by his wife of 48 years, Leeanne Doughty of the home in Frisco, Texas; a son, Brent Doughty of Perryton, Texas; two daughters, Jenna Patrick and her husband, Mark, of Lewisville, Texas and Stephanie Doughty of Frisco, Texas.
