Anne Carolyn Eller Mecum, 79, of Walkertown, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2014. She was born in Forsyth County to Mathis Edgar and Maie Parsons Eller. She graduated from Mineral Springs High School in 1952. Anne was a homemaker prior to running Mecum's Fabric Store in Walkertown for many years. Anne is survived by her husband of 62 years, James L. Mecum; sons, James L. Mecum, Jr. and David Mecum (Susan); granddaughters Amy Taylor (Keith), Ashley Manley (JD), Emily and Katie Mecum; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Kaylee, Austin, and Ethan; sister; Madeline Hoots (Ramon); and brother, C. Edwin Eller (Margie). In addition to her parents, Anne was preceded in death by her sisters, Virginia Kimball and Gertrude Talley, and brother, Jimmy Eller. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Love's United Methodist Church in Walkertown with the Rev. David Calhoun officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
