He married Elizabeth Mead in 1727 in Fairfield County, Connecticut.
A farmer, he removed to North Castle about 1748 where he owned land on both sides of the Danbury Post Road (present-day Bedford Road or Route 22) northeast of Smith's Tavern and south of Roger Lyon (who lived at Chestnut Ridge). His farmland was situated at approximately the present-day location of Windmill Farm (The Windmill Club) and Coman Hill Elementary School.
He died in North Castle, Westchester, New York.
