Madelyn M. Gjukis
Bellevue - Madelyn M. (Harrison)Gjukis, 67, of 119 S. Adams St., died Monday, Aug. 22, in Lansing General Hospital, where he had been a patient since Aug. 10. She had been ill two months.
She was born in Bellevue and was a lifelong resident. She and her husband operated the Bait Box, a fishing tackle sore, out of their home for nine years until 1979.
Surviving are daughters, Susan Hart of Lilburn, Ga., Diane Masters and Jennifer Sadler of Charlotte and Valerie Gjukis of Bellevue; a son Peter J. Gjukis Jr. of Bellevue; eight grandchildren; brothers, Willard Minner of Colon, Sheldon Harrison of Battle Creek and William Harrison of West Palm Beach, Fla.; sisters, Velma Potter of Charlotte and Harriet Harris of Battle Creek.
Her husband, Peter J. Gjukis Sr., died in 1978.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Bellevue First Baptist Church, Memorial donations may go to Bellevue Rescue Squad. Arrangements are by the Lehman Chapel-Shaw Funeral Home.
