Mrs. Lavina Daniel, the beloved wife of W.P. Daniel died Tuesday, April 13th at the family home near Leslie, after a long illness. Mrs. Daniel was 85 years of age, and came to Arkansas from Tennessee when she was six years old, and had lived in Searcy county ever since.

She was the daughter of Page Hatchett, one of the earlier settlers of Searcy county.

She is survived by her husband and six children, Dr. Sam G. Daniel of Marshall, Mrs. T.J. Rodgers of Leslie, Mrs. Roxie Cooper of Little Rock, and Dr. Harrison Daniel of Denver, Col.; Mrs. David Cotton of Leslie, and Mrs. Banta Cummins, who lives in Oklahoma; also by a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Deceased early in life joined the Methodist church, and lived a true christian until the end.

Six of the grandchildren acted as pallbearers at the funeral.

The funeral services were held Thursday morning, conducted by Rev. A.J. Cullum of Leslie, and interment was in the Sulphur Springs cemetery, in the presence of a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends.
