Ms. Murray was a member of the Travis Chapel AME Church and a cook for the Tasty Foods Restaurant and the Kings Headstart Program. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Travis Chapel Burial Society and the Willing Workers Society.
She is preceded in death by her parents Sylvester and Jessie Major Taylor; four brothers, Sidney Taylor, Sylvester Taylor, Jr., Meredith Taylor,Sr., Albert Young and Willie Taylor and two sisters, Eddie Taylor Johnson and Ceaser Taylor Jones.
She is survived by a step-daughter, Marion White of Vicksburg; 19 nieces, nephews and a host of cousins and other relatives, including Dorothy Lee Carson of Vicksburg.
Services are Saturday, Feb 8, 2014, at Bethlehem M.B. Church with the Rev. Horace McKay officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery with W.H.Jefferson Funeral Home in charge. A ceremony by the Order of the Eastern Star will be 6 p.m. Friday in the chapel.
