Jean Elizabeth Speas Goodwin, 64, passed away on Sat., May 19, 2012 in Winston-Salem. Born in Durham, NC on September 5, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. William Paul Speas, Jr., and the granddaughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. William Paul Speas, Sr., of Winston-Salem.
Ms. Goodwin graduated from R J Reynolds High School and Methodist University and worked in the Accounting Department of Novant Health at Forsyth Medical Center for over 30 years. She was interested in a variety of activities, such as photography, videotaping weddings and soccer games, computers, music, vintage cars, and the Washington Redskins and Atlanta Braves. She worked for the welfare of children and animals and was an amateur expert in astronomy.
