Vickie Lynn Hare Baker, 57, of West Columbia, died Friday, May 23, 2014, at Lexington Medical Center.

Born on February 22, 1957, in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late James L. and Frances Wallace Hare.

Mrs. Baker was retired from the SC Department of Employment and Workforce. She was a member of King Grove Baptist Church of Swansea and the Moose Lodge.

She is survived by her husband, Randal Dean Baker; sister, Jenny Hare of Swansea; brother, Rick Hare of Columbia; mother-in-law, Betty Baker of Columbia; nephews, Charles Hare, Stephen Hare and James Hare; special friends, Lisa Hare and Joey Tanner.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery by the Rev. Brent Nichols. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Restoration Fund, c/o First Community Bank, PO Box 417, Newberry, SC 29108.

Active pallbearers will be Jim Anderson, Jack Chamberlain, Marty Coleman, Dave Jordan, Donald Schwartz and Rock Threatt.
