Rosie Griffin, age 69 of Royse City, TX, passed away September 18, 2011. She was born March 5, 1942 in Carthage, TX, to Lara & Mattie Lu Mason. Mrs. Griffin lived in Royse City, TX, for 44 years and was a former member of Eastside Church of Christ for 38 years. For the past three years she was a member of Greenville Avenue Church of Christ. Mrs. Griffin worked as a dietician for the Royse City ISD for 19 years and retired in 2005. She was preceded in death by her husband: Melvin Lee Griffin; and father: Lara Mason. Mrs. Griffin is survived by her sons: Lonnie Griffin of Garland, TX, and Gerry Griffin & wife Jennifer of Rowlett, TX; daughters: Marie Griffin of McKinney, TX, Helen Chism & husband Ricky of Garland, TX, Deloise Griffin of Frisco, TX, Carol Griffin of McKinney, TX, and Michelle Griffin of Allen, TX; mother: Mattie Lu Mason of Royse City, TX; brother: Vonzell Mason of Royse City, TX; sister: Dorothy Mason of Royse City, TX; grandchildren: Destiny Griffin, Darnell Chism, Leslie Griffin, Isaiah Chism, Kade Anderson and Gerry Griffin II; and great grandchild: Montrey Taylor.
