Rachel Marie Reynolds, 17, born on July 29, 1996, of Summerville, SC, passed away early May 24, 2014, in her home with her family. In January, with only a few weeks of on and off pain in her right side, led to a doctor's visit, where we were told all in the same day, Rachel had a rare type of cancer that was at a stage 4 level on diagnosis. When asked what type of cancer, we were always told Disseminated malignancy of unknown primary with tumor markers of a germ cell and unspecified Sarcoma markers. With a terminal prognosis from the beginning, she was determined to overcome this horrible disease. She would always say she was not dying, because she liked it here.

Rachel accomplished many things in the short time she lived here on earth. She is a 2014 graduate from Summerville High School. She completed all minimum State competencies for health science, Nursing Assistant in 2013 and achieved her certification from the State of South Carolina Nurse Aide Registry. She had a strong desire to work in the medical profession. She had thought about working in the profession of oncology or being an anesthesiologist. Rachel had a strong passion for people and animals. And she loved to shop! She could never have enough shoes. She was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors. She also had a strong faith in God and believed he would never leave her side.

She is survived by both of her parents, Larry and Julie Reynolds, of Summerville, SC; three brothers, James A. Wall, Jr., and wife, Brittney of Hampton, VA, and Jacob A. Reynolds and Joshua M. Reynolds, both of Summerville, SC; boyfriend, whom was her rock, Daniel "Travis" Douglas of Summerville, SC; grandparents, Gloria Arnold and Hal Burch of Hampton, VA, and Angela "Sandy" Reynolds of Chesapeake, VA; and a host of other relatives, friends, and all her supporters on Rachel's Team.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Marvin Reynolds.

We ask that contributions be made in Rachel's name to Frances R. Willis SPCA, PO Box 1116, Summerville, SC 29484.
