Reverend Gregory LaMark Payne, Sr. was born February 27, 1966 in Theodore, AL. He departed this life on December 18, 2013 at his residence. He is preceded in death by his father Mr. Leodis Payne, Sr., his grandparents, Major (Ida) Payne and Herman (Luvella) Dixon.

Reverend Gregory L. Payne, Sr. confessed Christ at an early age and later founded The Greater Antioch Church and Life Center where he served as Pastor until God called him home.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife of 15 years, Charletta Payne, two sons; Gregory L. Payne, Jr., San Antonio, TX; Quenterius D. Burden, Mobile, AL; two daughters; Jabria A. Hall, Mobile, AL and LaQuincia M. Burden, Irvington, AL; his mother, Willie Mae (Leslie) Thompson and grandmother Tee Miller Thompson of Irvington, AL; three sisters, Michelle (Jerry) Ford, Irvington, AL; Melanie (Willie) Payne, Jr. of South Carolina and Kimberly Thompson, Irvington, AL; three brothers Leodis (Cindy) Payne, Jr., Irvington, AL; Leslie Thompson, Jr. Baytown, TX; and Charles Pugh, Huntsville, AL; two goddaughters; Callie (Darrius) Mounger and Shermika Stallworth; four god-grandchildren; Shakiyah, Tim'miyah and Elijah Stallworth and Darrius Mounger, Jr. all of Mobile, AL; mother-in-law, Lorraine D. Pugh, of Mobile, AL and father-in-law Shelby Pugh, of Mobile, AL and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
