John W. Guise, 67, a retired farmer, died Thursday at 5:20 a.m. at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ruth Forney, 309 Chestnut Street, Mt. Holly Springs, from complication of diseased. He had been in ill health for a number of years and was bedfast six months.
Mr. Guise was born and lived most of his life in Adams County, a son of the late Abraham and Anna (Hollinger) Guise. For the last six months he lived with his daughter. He was a member of Bender's Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his widow, the former Rozella Bream; two daughters, Mrs. Forney and Cletora Guise, Gettysburg; four grandchildren; one great greandchild; three brothers, Conrad, Biglerville; Nevin and Harry, of York, and one sister, Mrs. Mervin Becker, Indiana.
Funeral services from the Routson Funeral Home, Bendersville, Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock conducted by the Rev. H.W. Sternat. Interment in the Upper Bermudian Church Cemetery.
