Graveside services for Johanna Margarete Christian, 81, of Tyler, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, May 25, 2014, in Rose Hill Cemetery with Father Hank Lanik officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.
Johanna passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2014, in Tyler.
She was born on July 13, 1932, in Rodalben, Germany, to the late George and Franziska Baumann. She was a member of the Altar Society at the Cathedral of The Immaculate Conception. She loved to crochet and knit and loved to cook. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was the youngest of 10 children.
She is survived by two daughters, Ursula Lewis and her husband John, of Arlington, Helene Bellinghausen, of Germany; two sons, James Michael Christian and his wife Paula, of Cleburne, and Larry Christian Jr. and his wife Donna, of Tyler; grandchildren, Monica Mask, Tanja Garbers, Kelli Christian, Julie Hampton, Matthew Christian and Laura Robison; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews in Germany.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Christian Sr.; grandson, Steven Christian; and nine brothers and sisters.
The family would like to thank the staff at Park Place for their excellent care.
