∼Nathaniel was the son of Nathaniel & Sarah(Culver) Gillett.
He married Mercy Smith on April 6,1727 in Litchfield, Conn.
They had 8 children: Mary 1728-, Jonathan 1731-1756, John 1733, Irene 1736, Nathaniel III 1739-1756, Nathan 1742-1794, Joseph 1745-1746 & Jacob 1749-1777.
Nathaniel is buried with 2 of his sons who preceded him in death. Johnathan age 24 and Nathaniel III age 17.
