Mrs. Eugene H. Swegman, 73, died at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in a Janesville nursing home. She had been in failing health 2 ½ years. The former Bertha Smith, daughter of Charles and Martha Roberts Smith, was born April 4, 1892, in Bevier, Mo., and was graduated from Lincoln, Mo., High School. She married Aug 28, 1920, in Liberty, Mo., to Eugene Swegman. They came to Janesville in September 1927. She attended First Congregational Church and was a member of Eastern Star No. 69 and Elks Ladies. Survivors are her husband; a son; three daughters; and four grandsons.
