Son of Ephraim Davis,(died August 13, 1769) and Elizabeth Davis, nee Howard (died January 4, 1793) Born at the Greenwood estate near Brookeville, (Montgomery County) Maryland. He helped further develop the Greenwood estate. On January 2, 1802, he married Elizabeth Bowie (September 11, 1772-November 23, 1840), and became the parents of Allen Bowie Davis (February 16, 1809-March 17, 1889)
