Juanita ("Nita") Hines Smith Clark Larson was the last child of William Henry Hines and Ola Dell Wheeler Hines of Lake City, Florida. Ola Dell, Nita's mother suffered a stroke after Nita's birth in 1937 and passed away in Juanita's infancy. Nita's older sister, Maude Hines Feagle and brother, Charles Henry were left to care for the infant. Soon thereafter however, Maude married her spouse and moved to Tampa, Fl for her husband's work where she raised their family. An older sister, Stella, passed away in early childhood. Nita's brother Charles Henry became her caretaker while their father worked in the fields to make a living for the small family. Charles was only six years older than Nita when they lost their mother.

William Henry was a very hard working man who made his living as a sharecropper in a time of undue financial hardships. The little family survived very difficult years. William Henry passed in 1952, leaving Juanita to be cared for as a young teenager by Charles Henry and his new bride, Lois Marion. Juanita married and bore her first child, Robert Dale while living with the young couple during a time her young husband served his country in a foreign land.

Juanita was a treasured part of the family and especially favored by her young niece Dell Anne who worshipped her and Nita's young son. A lifetime bond was forged during those years that could never be broken.

Juanita later had two daughters, Lisa and Sandra and the familial bond remained close all their lives. Family gatherings of the three Hines siblings and their families remain treasured memories for all their descendants. After raising her children, Juanita was fortunate to have lived her life near her son Robert Dale in Franklin, Tennessee. Her three children took tender care of her for the duration of a long illness.

"Nita" was an exceptionally funny person; always a smile on her face and laughter in her heart. All three of her children inherited her outgoing personality and wit and an occasion to visit with the threesome produces much comedy.

"Nita's" presence is sorely missed by all but the travels she accomplished in her lifetime remain a beacon to the perseverance of an exceptionally strong and determined woman in difficult times.
