SSgt. Robinson was attached to the 553rd Reconnaisance Wing of the US Force and stationed at Korat RTAFB, Thailand, at the end of the 1960s. He became the 'handler' of the unit's mascot, 'Snoopy', who flew with SSgt. Robinson on many missions over Thailand in EC-121 'Batcat' aircraft. Snoopy was constantly at Robinson's side around the air base.
After Snoopy's tour of duty came to an end, he was given a free flight on Pan American airlines to join 'Robbie' Robinson in Detroit, Michigan. The two traveled much together. Snoopy passed away in Dallas, Texas in 1980 (about 13 yrs. of age). Robinson would eventually live in Virginia and the Washington, DC, areas until his death in 2011.
