Ralph Alonzo Daniell was born 23 August 1887 in Brooklyn, New York. He was the only surviving child of his parents - Phillip Billington Daniell and Ella Amelia Denike.
As a youth, his parents divorced and Ralph went to live with his mother. They lived in Brooklyn until his mother remarried to Frank Horton. The three would eventually settle in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Ralph married Miss Jennie Estelle Madden on 25 January 1910 and they lived in Bridgeport for the next twenty years. He purchased his property in Trumbull, Connecticut at 315 Churchill Rd. and remained there for the rest of their lives. He and Jennie tried to have children but unfortunately none survived infancy.
For employment, Ralph was initially a mechanic before becoming an insurance agent for Monarch Life Insurance. He was a mason associated with the Corinthian Lodge , 104, AF and AM.
Ralph loved the outdoors and frequently travelled across the country in his automobile. He and his wife spent long periods outdoors, hunting, fishing, and camping. He would frequently include members of his family on his trips.
