Martha Ann Jane RAMPY MOORE was born 29 February 1836 in Randolph County, Alabama to Henry RAMPY and Elizabeth GRAY RAMPY. On 21 December 1850, Martha A. Jane RAMPY married James Christopher MOOREin Randolph County, Alabama.

Martha's, German born, grandfather (Peter RAMPY, son of Johan Nicholas REMPE) was born on board the ship "UNION" in route to America where they arrived in Charles Town, South Carolina on December 16, 1764.

Martha Ann Jane RAMPY, her husband, and their seven children came to Bell County, Texas, in the spring of 1872, settling between Holland and Salado. Three more children were born after they came to Bell County.

Martha Ann Jane RAMPY's husband, James Christopher MOORE, was a successful farmer and they owned several hundred acres of land around and between Holland and Salado. Their home was about five miles east of Salado, and Moore's Corner was a well-known point between the two towns.
