Mrs. Violet Elizabeth Johnson, 83, Ripley, died October 18, 1981 at ST Francis Hospital in Memphis. She was a native of Tippah County, a housewife and a member of the Church of Christ and widow of William Jasper Johnson. Services were October 19, at 3 pm in McBride Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Beech Hill Cemetery. Survivors include two sons, Thomas Harrell Johnson and Wiliam Stanley Johnson, both of Memphis; two daughters, Sarah Grisham, Germantown and Betty Hamm, Memphis; one brother, John Allen Harrell, Memphis; four sisters, Roenah Cox, Memphis, Mildred Maybelle STewart, Ione Cox, both of Ripley, and Gwendolyn McClure, El Centro, CA; 8 Grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
