He was born December 16, 1939, in Huntington, W. Virginia, the son of Homer E. and Quanita (Nance) McComas.
He was a U.S. Marine veteran and life member of AMVETS.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Roy L. McComas.
Richard is survived by his wife, Nancy C. (Mount) McComas; children, Richard H. (Barbie) McComas Jr., Leslie A. McComas, Drema S. (Steve) Steyers, Roger E. (Mila) McComas, Tony L. (Jami) McComas, and Tonya N. (Jerry) Powell; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Jerry and Homer E. McComas; and sister, Kim McComas.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 27, at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville.
Burial will be in Forest Cemetery with military graveside honors.
Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
