Army Pvt 1st Class Parker was assigned to the 205th Engineer Battalion, U.S. Army National Guard, Slidell, Louisiana. Parker died of non-combat related injuries at Camp AS Sayliyah. Officials believed the cause of death was cardiac arrest. Kristian was a dedicated soldier, a talented artist, and a lover of music. He wanted to be a famous DJ and did a lot of gigs. He especially liked trance and house music. Another passion of his was drawing. In addition to his hobbies, Kristian's schoolwork also kept him busy as he studied at Delgado Community College to become a nurse anesthetist. He was very proud to be serving this country and felt like he was making a real contribution. Kristian entered the service last year and didn't think he could make it, but his determination saw him through as he gained the skills to become a sharpshooter.

Kristian is also remembered on a memorial marker with his father and mother in Logtown Cemetery in Logtown, Hancock County, Mississippi.
