Bobby Joe Purifoy, Jr.-- a life long resident of Prichard, AL. exchanged this life for eternity on Thursday, August 18, 2005 at a local hospital. He was a member of the York Town Baptist Church. He was a 1985 graduate of C.F. Vigor High School. Upon graduation he served in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul C. Purifoy. He was the first child born to the union of Irma Jean and Bobby Joe Purifoy, Sr. on February 9, 1967. He leaves to cherish his loving memories two devoted children, Brittany C. Purifoy and Paul C. Purifoy; devoted parents, Bobby Joe (Irma Jean) Purifoy, Sr.; one brother, Benjamin Purifoy; three sisters, Artester (Willie) Griffin, Jerrie Purifoy, all of Mobile, AL, and R. Talisa (Cory) Pruitt of Grove Hill, AL; two grandparents, Ella Purifoy and Julia Portis of Mobile, AL; six aunts, Vonice Cruel of Washington, D.C., Marzola Hardy of Augusta, GA, Yvonne Madison of Chesapeake, VA, Bonita Smith of Atlanta, GA, Zebonia Evans and Cynthia Torrance of Mobile, AL; seven uncles, Liston Portis, Jr. of New York, N.Y., Robert Purifoy, Tyrone Williams, Mitchell Portis, Leroy Williams, all of Mobile, AL, Curtis Williams of VA, and Morris Williams of Bay Minette, AL; five nieces, one nephew, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be at York Town Baptist Church, Plateau, AL, Saturday, August 27, 2005 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral hour. Rev. Cory J. Pruitt, officiating. Interment will follow in Whispering Pines Cemetery. Arrangements by Johnson-Allen Mortuary, 600 Chestnut St., Mobile, AL.
